サーフフォトグラファー リロイ・グラニス（1917-2011）の写真集。サーフフォトのパイオニア的存在であるグラニス。自身も14歳よりサーフィンに親しんでおり、ボードに防水ボックスを吸盤で取り付け、水中でフィルムを交換するなど独自の方法で撮影を行っていた。本書では、1960~1970年代のカルフォルニアとハワイのサーフシーン、当時の活気に満ちた雰囲気を捉えた写真をカラー／モノクロで掲載。サーフジャーナリストで『SURFER Magazine』の編集長を長年務めるSteave Barilottiによるエッセイを収録する。
